Sosialisasi K3 (Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja) Pada Kelompok Perajin Kapal Nelayan Puger Dalam Rangka Pengurangan Risiko Kecelakaan Kerja

Abstract

A lack of exposure to occupational health and safety (OHS) information has resulted in limited awareness of OHS practices among traditional boat craftsmen in Puger District. This issue increases the risk of workplace accidents, such as injuries from carpentry tools, exposure to wood splinters, and non-ergonomic working postures. This community service initiative aims to enhance craftsmen’s knowledge of OHS through socialization activities. The methods employed in this program included field surveys, literature reviews, the development of educational modules, the implementation of awareness sessions, and activity evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. The  awareness raising session began with a pre-test assessing participants’ knowledge of various OHS aspects, followed by the delivery of OHS materials relevant to the work of traditional boat craftsmen in Puger. The session also included demonstrations of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, interactive discussions, and concluded with a post-test. The results indicated a 26.78% increase in participants’ OHS knowledge after the session. Furthermore, participants displayed enthusiasm during the PPE simulation, which is expected to encourage safer workplace behavior. By improving their understanding of occupational risks and the importance of OHS, traditional boat craftsmen are anticipated to reduce workplace accidents and enhance productivity in the future.
