Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance farmers capacity in implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for mangosteen cultivation within the Santoso Farmers Group, Klungkung Village, Jember Regency. The high incidence of yellow sap disorder in mangosteen is the main problem in mangosteen cultivation within the Santoso Farmer Group. GAP was selected as the approach due to its ability to ensure product quality, food safety, production efficiency, and market access. The activities included identifying cultivation and marketing problems, conducting participatory GAP training, providing technical assistance in cultivation (pruning, fertilization, integrated pest management), and managing mangosteen waste. The results demonstrated improved farmers understanding of GAP standards, adoption of more environmentally friendly cultivation techniques, and enhancement of mangosteen fruit quality in line with modern market standards. This community empowerment (PKM) initiative positively contributed to strengthening farmers knowledge, improving cultivation quality, and enhancing the competitiveness of mangosteen as a regional leading commodity in Jember on a sustainable basis. Furthermore, the community gained skills in processing mangosteen waste into organic fertilizer, which can be applied to crops or sold as an additional source of income.
