Abstract

Malnutrition in early childhood remains a major challenge in Indonesia and contributes to the high prevalence of stunting. Nutritional interventions through the utilization of local food sources are essential to support optimal child growth and development. This community service program aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Modisco Moringa (Modified Dried Skimmed Milk and Coconut Oil enriched with Moringa oleifera leaf powder) as a complementary feeding intervention for children at TPA Daycare Politeknik Negeri Jember. The intervention was implemented by providing Modisco Moringa over a specific period, accompanied by monitoring children’s nutritional status before and after the program. The results showed improvement in nutritional indicators, particularly weight gain and overall nutritional status. The high content of protein, calcium, iron, and vitamin A in Modisco Moringa contributed significantly to supporting children’s health and preventing stunting. Therefore, Modisco Moringa is proven effective as a local food–based supplementary feeding to improve early childhood nutritional status.
